And just like a bad penny, she’s back! Valerie Jahn Grandin, Esq., has come back to join CREW Orlando. Valerie is the Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Counsel, for North American Title Insurance Company, the affiliated title insurer for Lennar Homes, now the largest U.S. homebuilder following its recent merger with Cal Atlantic. At NATIC, Valerie brings a wealth of commercial real estate experience to her position, including commercial acquisition, conveyance, financing and development, as well as title insurance underwriting.
Prior to joining NATIC, Valerie was Senior Underwriting Counsel at Attorneys’ Title Fund Services, LLC, in Orlando, Florida, where she provided underwriting assistance to commercial law firms, foreclosure practices and residential title agents. From 1999 to 2007, she handled all phases of commercial and residential real estate for Burr & Forman in its Winter Park office. She also managed a real estate caseload for Miami-based Shapo, Freedman & Fletcher for four years prior to that.
Valerie is an honors graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park and earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of Miami School of Law. She is a member of the Florida Bar, CREW Miami and now a returning member of CREW Orlando where she was voted Most Outstanding Member in 2010. She serves on the Board of the Robert Traurig, Greenberg Traurig LL.M in Real Property Development at the University of Miami School of Law. She has earned the Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Lawyer designation. She serves a member of the ALTA Mid-Cap Underwriter and Reinsurance Committees and is active in the Florida Land Title Association and other state title associations within the 40 states where NATIC is licensed as a title insurer. She volunteers with the Law Alumni Association for the University of Miami and the Carrollton School in Miami. Valerie loves Broadway, theater and any kind of dance.
