Elaine Devlin has worked in banking for more than 36 years, with a special focus on commercial real estate, and she currently serves as Commercial Loan Underwriter III and Vice President of CenterState Bank (recently announced a name change to SouthState Bank). A passionate member of the community, she also dedicates her time to volunteering and serves at Jobs Partnership as an interview coach to equip people with the skills and information to gain employment. She also volunteers at the Seminole County Jail to facilitate worship services.
What skills do you believe are key to your success/or what specific skills do you say are key to success in your industry or discipline?
I believe the key to my success is the willingness to admit when I am wrong, apologize and move on. I don’t agonize over past mistakes.
What has been your greatest challenge in your career?
The greatest challenge in my career has been my own stubbornness, which is also one of my greatest strengths.
