Laura is a partner and Vice-President of Business Development for BASE Consultants, Inc., a highly-qualified minority and woman owned structural engineering and construction management firm with the experience of a large corporation and the accessibility and responsiveness of a smaller firm. Laura is responsible for Business Development and Operations duties. In addition, she performs parking consulting and structural engineering services related to the development and design of municipal, education, and aviation buildings. BASE’s signature projects include the first phase of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and the new South Terminal at Orlando International Airport.

Laura is the current President and past Treasurer and Secretary of CREW Orlando. She currently serves as a CREW Network Foundation Champion Director for the 2022-2023 term. She is a past member of the CREW Network Nominating Committee, CREW Network Finance Committee, past Vice Chair of the City of Orlando Building & Fire Codes Board of Appeal, and past member of the Junior Achievement Leadership Council, the Key Initiative Group of Ronald McDonald House for Central Florida, and the Central Florida Young Professionals Advisory Council (YPAC).

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), as well as an MBA from Rollins College. A native of Panama City, Panama, she is a native Spanish speaker. She is an avid foodie, a beginner Olympic weightlifter, and an amateur photographer.
